Eddie's First Reconciliation!

Today was a very special day as Eddie made the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time!
We are all very proud of him!
He was so nervous this morning....worrying if he would remember his Act of Contrition and what to say to the priest during his individual confession.... and I was plenty nervous for him!

I thought Father did such a good job at the ceremony. He compared the scarament to the movie Finding Nemo and how his father always warned Nemo not to wander to far from home or go out into the open sea because there were boats and fisherman and danger out there. But Nemo disobeyed his father and did wander out and ended up getting lost and into a lot of trouble. His father spent most of the movie searching for Nemo and trying to come up with ways to get him back. In the end, once Nemo did get home, instead of being angry, his father was so happy and welcomed him back with love.

I thought that was such a great analogy for this sacrament. He had the kids giggling and feeling more relaxed..... me too!

Here are the lyrics to one of the songs that I really liked....yes, I know I'm a total sap.....

Song: We Come to Ask Your Forgiveness

We come to ask your forgiveness, And we seek forgiveness from each other.

Sometimes we build up walls instead of bridges to peace. And we ask your forgiveness.

Sometimes we hurt by what we do to others. Somtimes we hurt with words that are untrue.

For the times when we've been rude and selfish. For the times when we have been unkind. For the times we refused to help our friends in need.

We ask your forgiveness, O Lord.

He looked very handsome.....in fact, all three Hayes boys did!

Lina loves Grandma!

Afterwards we went out to eat to celebrate....
it was a fun time!

As you can see Christopher was very impressed with it all...
it will be his turn next year!

Congratulations Baby!

Congrats Eddie! Love the braces too! Jacob can't wait to get braces (Jordan...who has had them for a year) says he's nuts!

Great pics! The boys are adorable as usual!
