We returned home today after spending a few very relaxing days at Noni & Pop's house. Relaxing except for the Thursday morning when I had my appointment at the hospital to have the staples removed. I had suspected it was infected a few times but then thought it was improving so I didn't want to make a big deal of it. But as it turns out it WAS infected. It was so red and inflamed and sore that it hurt like hell! I reactively pushed his arm away several times but was thankful that I managed to retain some dignity in that he didn't actually have to get the nurses to sit on me so he could remove the final few! Now I just have to apply a topical ointment, Mupirocin twice a day and cover it with gauze as well as take an oral antibiotic, Levaquin (which is a heavy duty antibiotic) once a day for ten days. It's supposed be really good stuff but once again I've done too much research and apparently it can have some nasty side-effects which I will hopefully not experience!

My mother's gardens (in the yard and on the deck) are always so beautiful but this year the flowers are really lush and full and unbelievable....
The boys love to put out bread to feed the birds...
Noooo, I wasn't trying to look sexy in this picture (what a joke!) I didn't even realize I was showing shoulder like that til I saw the picture! This was shortly after getting the staples removed.
The boys love to put out bread to feed the birds... Then they helped Noni collect seeds from the flowers. They put them in envelopes marked with what flower the seeds are from. Next Spring Noni will come with the envelopes and they will plant them in our yard.
Chris helped Noni pick figs from the fig tree.
We eat all of our meals out on the deck at Noni & Pop's house...
I think this chair is even more comfy than the hammock!
It's always fun to stay in my old room again - even though it's a little crowded with the big aerobed when we come!
